About Us
At Lightmonger, we believe that lighting is more than just a function; it's a piece of art that tells a story. Established in the vibrant city of Brighton in 2025, our family-owned business is dedicated to celebrating the most iconic design eras of the past. We are a small, tight-knit team with a diverse range of passions, from the bold elegance of Art Deco to the sleek curves of Mid-Century Modern, and the industrial charm of the Victorian era. We meticulously source and craft fittings that preserve these unique designs for today's world.

Mike White
Born in the 1980s, Mike grew up surrounded by tools, timber, and timeless design. His lifelong passion for antiques, construction, and restoration eventually fused into what became Lightmonger, a workshop dedicated to reimagining traditional British electrical craft for the modern age.
An electrician by trade, Mike brings a maker’s precision to every piece that leaves the bench. His work balances heritage authenticity with practical ingenuity, combining salvaged inspiration, new materials, and decades of hands-on experience.
When he’s not in the workshop, Mike is a proud father of two, often found at classic car shows or roller skating by the coast, pursuits that reflect the same love of motion, mechanics, and timeless design that define his work.
Every Lightmonger fitting is handcrafted in Brighton, using ethically sourced, globally gathered components, designed to age beautifully and last for generations.
Workshop
Our workshop, tucked just north of Brighton, is a true Aladdin’s cave of electrical parts and accessories, both old and new.
Among the benches and tool racks sit a Warco spindle moulder, a Unimat metal lathe, a 2-tonne Norton flypress, and a floor-standing pillar drill, each used daily for fabrication, restoration, and fine detail work.
When it comes to hand tools, we rely on the best: Wera drivers, CK strippers, and Knipex crimpers and grips, trusted companions for precision and reliability.
We maintain a large inventory of spare components, along with an ever-growing archive of salvaged parts, catalogues, and period publications, a resource that continually informs our restoration and design work.

Whilst every care is taken in the design and manufacturing of our products, electricity can be dangerous. We strongly recommend that all electrical work is carried out by a competent, qualified electrician.
